1 The Need
Dean was recommended to us by our accountant as we had shared that we were not sure that our current insurance met our needs. We wanted a fresh eye, we had been with our broker for 20 years and felt that we just renewed each year without a full discussion of our changing needs. We wanted someone that could visit us and provide good customer care so that we could be confident in the choices of cover we made and also confident that we were paying as low a price as possible for the cover we chose.
2 The Solution
I visited the premises on several occasions to ensure that I got to know the business and be sure that both myself and the business understood the cover that was needed. In the first meeting I saw some glaring omissions that meant the cover they were paying for didn’t cover the operations they were undertaking.
I was able to negotiate with the insurance companies that I have great relationships with, until we were able to find an agreement that covered the company’s needs and provided a great price for the cover they have bought. I will continue to check in with them to ensure that any changes to their assets or business will be reviewed and covered if needed.
3 The Result
We found Dean to be very sincere and helpful and easy to chat with. He very kindly arranged several face to face meetings so that we could take the time to clearly understand the insurance that we needed. We were shocked to find out that we were missing some vital insurance cover and realise how important it is to look carefully at our policy every year rather than just let it renew, something Dean does as standard for more complex businesses. For all the time Dean spent with us, we expected his time to be more expensive but Dean was able to beat our previous premium.
